Kefajet Edip is an Assistant Professor at the Faculty of Engineering, Department of Architecture where she teaches several courses, including Basic Design, Elements in Architectural Design, Architectural Design 1 as well as courses related to computer-aided design (CAD) software for architects.
She graduated in 2011 from the Faculty of Architecture at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, earning the title Dipl. Ing. Architect. Between 2014 and 2015 she completed her master’s degree at the same faculty. From 2011 to 2017, she gained experience as project architect at the architectural office Studio Tim Proekt where she was engaged in the design of residential and educational buildings. She holds a license in architectural design, certified by the Chamber of Licensed Architects and Engineers of Macedonia.
Her academic career started at International Balkan University in 2017 as a teaching assistant at Faculty of Engineering at the Department of Architecture. In 2023 she earned her PhD degree in Technical Sciences in the field of Earthquake Engineering at Institute of Earthquake Engineering and Engineering Seismology (IZIIS) at Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje.
Her research focuses on urban planning in seismic regions, mitigating seismic risk at urban scale and establishing sustainable and resilient urban environments. Kefajet has presented her research work at numerous international conferences. She is dedicated to publishing research papers both at international conferences and in journals. Her most recent publication is the book titled “Seismic Risk Assessment as a Basis for Sustainable Urban Development”, which is based on her doctoral dissertation. The book was released by the Balkan University Press in 2024.
